The shore side of Federal Way — Dumas Bay, Adelaide, Lakota — sits right up our coastal route.
Our Federal Way coverage is the northwest quarter — the 98023 streets that lean toward the water: the bluff neighborhoods around Dumas Bay, Adelaide with its beach-community bones, Lakota and the wooded loops behind it. It connects naturally to our Tacoma-side route along the shore, so this corner of Federal Way gets a level of attention the middle of the city would not.
The 70s and 80s built this quarter in split-levels and tri-levels, and those floor plans hide the dryer a long way from an outside wall. Twenty-foot vent runs with three elbows are dryer killers: airflow drops, thermal fuses blow, elements get blamed. Homes here drink Lakehaven water, which runs a few grains harder than the famously soft Tacoma supply two miles north. It is not desert-hard, but it is enough that dishwashers show film sooner and ice makers scale earlier than their twins in UP.
